Hi all, im in the market for a new stem for my carbon viper xc mtb and have seen the Deda quattro 2 road stem and to be honest I think it looks the dogs. also it seems to be available in the perfect size for my bike, 90mm by 82 % rise(= about 8%). the only thing concerning me is the strength of it, would it be able to handle light off road use, Any advice would be much appreciated.
Who cares if it's strong enough - it looks the dogs - that's good enough for me. ;)
Depends what "light off roading means" - but I do think it would be fine. Road stems see some serious torque and hold together. I wouldn't put it on my bike though - I don't go "light" on my MTB if I can help it.
