I thought I might see what the interest is among riders here. Our speedwear is all made from 100%prepreg (dry) carbon fiber and coated to protect the wearer from carbon dust. The come in 7 sizes. A handy ring sizing chart is available on our website. These rings are made by my wife and I. What do ya think?

The rings are $26 shipped

Price might be a little steep... especially for the ring. But then again that's just me.

Neat product. When my girlfriend asks me to marry her, I might order one. ;)

Is it strong enough to open a beer bottle with?

Thanks. I just weighed the rings and a bracelet. The smallest ring we sell (size 7) weighs 1 gram and the largest (size 12) weighs barely 2 grams. The bracelet weighs 7 grams. These rings are stiffer than a Titanium ring as well. As far as getting scratched I do run them through a post cure to toughen the epoxy even more. There's really not much you can do about scrathing as every material scratches except a diamond. Carbon would scratch just like Titanium, Steel, Silver, or Gold. If it gets scratched up too much send it back and I'll re-coat it for $2.

Not to be rude but I don't think the prices are steep at all. I have a couple of points to make about our prices:

1. Where can you get one of these for less money? We are the only company making these right now.

2. How much would you expect to pay for a ring made from a comparable material like Titanium. As you know carbon and Ti are direct competitors in bike frames and many other things. Go to any local Jewelry store and they will charge you $150+ for a ring that is heavier, less stiff, and more common.

3. These rings are all hand made in the U.S.A. from the highest performing carbon fiber you can get and come with a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects. Sure it's a bit overbuilt but its pretty cool to know you have the same material on your finger as Formula 1 chassis and Stealth bombers

4. $26 includes shipping and handling- We spend a few dollars to ship them in a nice black drawstring bag with care instructions. Shipping is the same price to Canada

5. We carry 7 sizes of rings. The tooling to build the rings to standard sizes is not cheap! Prepreg carbon fiber requires a very highly polished custom mandrel for each size. These are not just thrown together.

I know not everyone might see the value and that's fine but we are offering a high quality, very unique product and can't work for free. :D

It's even cooler to think I that I'd have the same material on my finger as Lance's bike.

I think the rings are actually very cool, and I don't think they are overpriced at all - especially since it includes shipping. Might have to think about that as a holiday gift idea....

I have worn out a couple gold rings and the silver get pretty worn. I had a machinist make me a SS ring but it was not quite right but it sure stood up to the abuse. if I could get someone to machine me one out of 0-1 tool steel I could harden it and it would never wear at all.

Pretty cool! Will you do a ring that is 1/4" wide?
