I broke my Machine Tech stem I have had since about 96, and would like to replace it with another one. Not sure what it's specifically called, but if you have seen one you would know the one I am talking about. It's aluminum, and hollow in the center between the neck of the bike and where the handle bars attach. Its rather odd looking.

If you where to put "machine tech stem" in Google Images several pics of it will come up along the top page.

I would appreciate any input. Thank you.

I remember those, era of purple anodized components. Sorry I can't help further. Good luck finding one.

Ahhhh, . . . Machine Tech. That was a local Spokane, WA company. They made a lot of interesting components. Tim, owner of my local shop, has all kinds of stuff squirreled away in his vast archives; I know he sold other MT stuff recently. I'll quiz him if he still has a stem floating around. If he does, I'll put the two of you together.
