That's a great story. She's had an interesting life.

She works out at the gym twice a day at 100 years old? That's motivation to keep you from slacking on your workout. ;)

She was actually living alone in her apartment until a month ago, albeit with plenty of assistance coming in at certain times. Not a silly woman - strong, smart and willing to get help so that she could continue to do the important things her way. The elevator being replaced in her building is what forced her to move out.

Sadly she is mostly blind now and can not do all the things she used to like doing (sewing, knitting, painting etc), so she is a bit bored. Having your wits at that age can be a mixed blessing.

Yay - way to go for her!!!

I just watched the news and a 113 yr old woman flew up today from GA(?) to visit her family here in Rochester for her birthday on Thursday. I checked for her on the internet but no one has entered her, too bad. She was quite coherent, in a wheelchair and still lives at home, takes care of herself, cleans, schedules appointments, etc. Awesome. Lovely woman!!

The photographer who took this image is from NY and has a NYC personality.
Grandson: Memaw, there is a photographer here from New York that wants to take your picture.
Mrs. Cooper: That would be interesting.

Photographer enters room with assistant, sets up, quickly wears on Mrs. Cooper's nerves.

Mrs. Cooper: He needs to go back to New York now.

Photographer thanks Mrs. Cooper.

Mrs. Cooper: You're welcome. Now hit the road.
