Burley d'lite? the owner says they purchased it in 2002 so I guess I have to assume it was manufactured around 01/02? (btw, how can you tell the DOM?)

Background: I'm new here! Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this question so if it needs to be moved then sorry ;)

We have 3 kids (5,3,1) and are looking to get into biking as a family to become more active and physically fit. I think we've narrowed down our search to a trailer for the younger 2 and a TAB for the 5yo.Since we're new to this I'm leary of investing a large amount of money, but I do not want to waste any money on something we'll hate that will make it harder for us to enjoy and do regularly/for life, kwim?

So, I've narrowed our search further to Burley and Chariot (although, Burley prices are more appealing at this point). I found the Burley d'lite locally for sale for $375 (cdn) and I'm wondering if:

1) is that fair for that age of trailer (I know the resale on Burley is good, but I have no idea of fair market value or what it would have been worth new that long ago)
2) should I just consider a bee new for $460?
3) should I consider something else?

Help please :) Thanks!

I would go with an InStep trailer. I had one. My grandson loved it.

The Burley's and Chariots are well made, lightweight, easy to tow, safe, comfortable. They are also pretty easy to resell and hold their value well. I would not hesitate to buy a 10 year old model that was taken care of. You can check "completed listings" on ebay to see what they have been selling for: http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=burley+trailer&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_okw=burley+trailer&_oexkw=&_adv=1&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&LH_Auction=1&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=200&_fpos=Zip+code&_fsct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=1&_dmd=1&_ipg=50

I would buy a used, high quality Burley over something like a new InStep trailer, but then I don't buy my bicycles from Walmart, either.

Where are you located? I would hit the yard sales hard. I just bought one
at a yard sale, like new. There is no way to tell the age, the older ones
had a round tow bar, the newer ones are square. Older ones have 20"
wheels, the newer ones are 16's.

Everyone I have talked to got theirs second hand. Yard sale prices are
$50 or less.

Burley D-lite:

I paid one dollar, they thought the tires where bad, they just needed
put back on the rims and aired up.

I got mine free at a curb waiting for a trash pick up.
Also got the rubbermaid tub at the curb.

Check with your local Craiglist.

Hauled my 40 lb grandson and used it for groceries.
Gave it to a father who wanted to pull his two kids.
