Caveat that I do not plan to sell it, but I am new to the C&V world and was curious ballpark what this bike when restored bike might be worth.

It is a custom frame, Columbus SLX if memory serves, built by Rob Roberson. Rob was a mid-80's frame builder in San Diego and I believe now works for Joe Bell in SD. All Campy C-Record, though I need to source a couple of misc. parts.

The plan is to send the frame down to Joe Bell for a repaint, who did the original "rad red" paint job and then rebuild the groupset, etc.

Just curious what it might be worth, though this is labor of love not investment.

Even though it will be repainted by the same guy who did the original paint and Rob does still work with Joe... It will be worth most likely less than before the repaint.

?!

I stand by that. The reason is basically a repaint can hide past sins. You might be able to reduce this by documenting the frame before it gets repainted to quiet those lingering fears.

Rob is a good builder, built many a Masi, did a great job recreating a Masi Special for the owner of Speedplay in the not too distant past, but not that well known. The market is not that deep.

Thanks - it really needs a repaint and so a big part of this is bringing it back to the original delivery specs as put together by Dan Rock at Adams Ave. Bikes. as I said, it won't get sold so more for more own knowledge on the price range for a restored mid-80's custom with C-Record. I am pretty confidant the rebuild cost > street value :)
