Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I hate to be this guy on my first post, but I searched the Internet for hours last night trying to figure it out to no avail. Here's what I can tell you about the bike: the guy who sold it to me says his bike geek brother-in-law says it's a Schwinn. It has two serial numbers on both sides of the head tube, one of which I can read perfectly, the other of which I'm not sure if I can see it all or not due to new paint. The serial numbers are written vertically, meaning you have to turn your head to the right 90 degrees to read them normally. This is why I'm doubting it's a Schwinn.

Anyway, the side with the number that are completely clear reads: 546551.

The other side I'm probably leaving a number or letter or two out of reads: M 0 6478.

And that's basically all I've got. I don't know if you guys will know it right away or if this is way too vague. I apologize for my ignorance in this matter. If you think better pictures or any other info might help, let me know and I will do my best to oblige. Here is a fairly blurry picture of the bike:

Thanks for any help!

P.S. I'm not expecting this to be a particularly unique bike or anything, I'm just curious about it. I"t might be last year's K-Mart model for all I know.

Year or two before last year's K-Mart model is my best guess.

Ashtabula style crank, crimped stay ends on a stamped sheet metal drop out. You're looking at a murray, huffy, free spirit, grant sport, etc.

I agree looks like a huffy or murray to me.

26" wheels? I say Free Spirit.

Yeah, 26 x 1 3/8 tires on it. It's also got Shimano tourney derailleur as far as I can tell and Falcon thumb shifters. I don't know if that helps or even if those things are original.

Anyway, thanks for the opinions so far! I knew it wasn't a Schwinn.
