Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. The thread has come a tad early; I'll be building a Manitoban built Peugeot [Ishiwata] for for my son.
I'd sure like someone to come up with a Quebec built Le Croco [Columbus] some day.

A Canadian built out of Japanese tubing, adorned with mostly Japanese parts and some Italian pieces as well, Miele; a Italian immigrants work, hand built by.. who knows! Is there such a thing as a purely Canadian bicycle, Canadian steel? Maybe way back in the early CCM days?

columbus SLX Miele, there are a lot of miele's in toronto but coming across one of theses in SLX is definitely not common.
Went for a ride this morning out to Ash Bridges Bay park, seen alot of people out celebrating canada day, lots of nice bikes today too, sawa girl riding a vintage lugged pinarello, saw a nice Ciocc too, and not to mention all the pretty girls there are in toronto at the beach :D :innocent:
Happy Canada day...
A CCM mixte I worked on last Spring. Took forever to get the cotter pins figured out. The rear chain/seat stays were pinned.

Man, I own a lot of Canadian bikes! Oh CANADA!
edit: I just checked, and it turns out my wife's Raleigh Record mixtie is Canadian made as well:

I wonder about her other Raleigh mixtie, I couldn't find any "Made In" markings on it. It's a "Tora"

Ahhhh, so many nice Canadian bikes, makes my heart swell. I don't think I've seen a Miele that I didn't like and those two could be two of the nicer ones I've seen. Nice work everyone!!

Hi fellow Canucks, Happy Canada Day!
Anyone know the story on the Empire Professional or any other Empire branded bike that appeared for like 1 year in 1976? Basically a Japanese Bike but only marketed in Canada AFAIK, with a maple leaf in the headbadge logo. I bought one new in 1976 that I only kept for two years and now I have one that is identical except for the size, awaiting restoration.

Happy Canada Day!
And for some strange reason I happen to have 1 (out of 30+) Canadian built bike. Nothing fancy or even pretty. A Raleigh Gran Prix:

Well...it's Canadian, but I'm not sure about it being assembled there to avoid taxes:

I haven't gotten around to cleaning it yet...or riding it.

Very nice bikes. I live in Vancouver and the proud owner of Le Croco. I was a cyclist in the 80' and love to ride this bike. In my garage for the last 20 years now. I may decide to sell it.

Well, at last, something I know a bit about. Have a look at my Canadian Bicycles Page (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/FREE_SITE_1/FREE_SITE_BICYCLES_CANADA.htm) and go from there... And this is my personal favorite bicycle from Canada, or the world (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/FREE_SITE_1/FREE_SITE_3_BICYCLES.htm), for that matter, my Cyclops (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/Feature_Bicycles/Feature_Bicycles_Canada/Cyclops/CYCLOPS_1_Start.htm)...

Randy, I doubt I'd have bought mine without your constant praising of the marquee. Eventually I'll ride mine and see what I think!
