I just bought a Shimano 6700 chain, one of those directional ones. I'm looking to have a set of those pins around for repairs or changing chain length when necessary. I see some sites have ones that don't mention 6700 or 7900 or any of the newer directional chains. Do you know if the pins are still the same or have they changed at all? Do I have to order ones that explicitly list compatibility with 6700 or will generic 10 speed be good enough?

The pins that are comatible with all Shimano 10-speed chains have 2 grooves on the guide pin. The Shimano 10-speed pins have 3 grooves on the guide pin are not desigend for 6700 and 7900 series chains.
