yah I'd like that fiorella for my winter ride, even though I think it's a touch nice to be used as a beater. I'd just have to wipe it down every night. But i already got a fixed beater for the saltysnow, can't buy more, poor I'm told.

Yeah...for the Fiorella, I'd probably chew off your arm too. For that Serotta though, for that I'd turn on myself. Once upon a time Indy Fab made a play for them but the owner wouldn't sell.

I want to get a lugged steel track frame built for me that has a monostay in the back that essentially uses a fork for the seat stays. then you could get it to perfectly match the straight bladed fork in the front. pimp

WOAH!! those are my friend bens bikes! he goes on the midnight rides on saturdays the ciocc is his winter ride it came with two campy rims but he swiched out the rear for a wheel that was already a fixed converted wheel it has some crazy components and the frame is really nice and as if to twist the knife I think he got the whole thing off of e-bay for like $250. The giordana on the other hand he bought on tour for like $450 on the side of the road. It's a good thing he's one of the nicest kids I know or I would be tempted to steal the bikes.
edit: after looking at the photos of his bikes I realize that the pictures don't do either of the bikes justice

Heres a sweet looking pursuit frame if it will fit anybody (too tall and too poor for it)
That Yama is speed standing still. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

That's real nice, even with the clip-ons and the carbon wheels. Of course those bars would be decidedly unclipped and I'd sell the wheels and replace them with something more practical if it were my bike. But it's not and it never will be, so smoke 'em if you got 'em.
Lousy Smarch weather.

Hmm... Research shows that indeed Smarch is the 13th month. I hadn't realized.

the auction is for the frame and fork only, so you can kit it out how you like

True enough. And yet it makes not one whit of difference. I still will never own it.
It's pretty disingenous though because there are even photos of the drivetrain, the brakes, the wheels, and bars in the auction. In short, if you've got a short attention span like this guy right here, the pics lead you to believe you're buying a complete. Caveat emptor, I guess.

a guy i know has one of those in blue and yellow. it was built for a 650c front wheel, but he's got a 700 on the front now...he also has this insane Ti pursuit bike that he also bumped up from 650 to 700...it's still super low in the front with the 700.
his yamaguchi is puuuuure sex.

Sir Rapscallion,
What's his rationale on bumping from 650c to 700c? Just wondering.
Thanks.

i've got one of those yama's, repainted a deep blue, with a 700 fork and more slope to the TT. I'm still building it up (anyone have Nitto bars they can get to me quickly?) and it nearly kills me, staring at it each day, not being able to do anything but polish and daydream. (I'll take pics when its finished.)
I wish mine still had the yamaguchi circle/asterisk logo on the seattube though. Maybe someday yamaguchi-san will reply to my email and send me replacement decals.

My bike is in the goddamn corner crying with a complex because of these beater pictures.
Thx a lot!
Hi - I'm a late comer. It's funny that you guys are saying that East Coast is flat bar land. I ride a 'standard' East Coast fixie, a Giordana frame w/ phil wood everything else, in Boston. I moved to Portland OR and few road fixed at all. When I went to the local 'messenger bar' to look for work, they all announced I was from Boston because I rode a 'Boston bike'. Well, it looks like the trend is taking over, because they're all over the place now. Still have only seen like three people who can lock, though... :)

Oh crap! I *just* saw that bike in person a few days ago. I bought a Cinelli stem and Campagnolo cog off that guy, the bike was parked in front of the bar we met at. Small world...

That's pretty funny. I see the Giordana from to time around Beacon Hill when I'm getting off of work. That is a pretty nice looking bike. I do not envy him completely since he does have to ride brakeless down Beacon Hill. Yikes! :D
