From what I've read, everyone says to go with the 6700, but the Competitive Cyclist site claims that the 7900 has better seals. Anyone found that to be the case?

The seals on radial bearings are dust seals meant to keep out dust on electric motors where these bearings are used. Go with the cheaper version and you will be ok.
