Originally I started off looking at Cannondale Quicks and then I stopped by another store and took a 7.3 fx for a spin. I felt right away that I liked it better then the Quick. Then I grabbed a 7.5 and loved it. I felt the shifting was much smoother.
Before I left I saw they have a sale sign on a Mendota. I asked about it and they said they over bought a bunch of them and have some left. Basically the specs are almost identical to the 7.5 fx except it also has disc brakes and a carbon seat stay.
Riding them they felt nearly identical. I did however prefer the newer Shimano Deora shifters on the Trek vs the older ones on the GF. They worked the same but I thought the newer ones looked nicer.
The GF is on sale for $799, supposedly a $1000 + retail. The 7.5 is $889
Any thoughts?
