Did you bother with a web search? Just type in brand and model and voila, up comes all the info you ever cared to know.
Asking us about the value? what year is it and what components are on it? I ask about the components because they may not be what they came on the bike which could alter the worth of it.
If it's an early 2000 model they were supposedly the best steel hardtail production bike made. The weakest points on that bike was the headset and the seatpost if factory original they were garbage, but being garbage probably means the original owner had already replaced them. Other then those two items the bike was the best steel hardtail made at the time.
If it is an mid to late 80's the Shimano XT stuff was not very good back then, they went out of adjustment a lot, and just a hassle to keep tuned up. If you have one of those years then you over paid even if mint. But some people will overpay to get a Bianchi bike regardless if it has so so components.
$400 over priced? I don't know without knowing more about yours and it's condition. If in mint then no.
Overpaid? Given you paid $400 for a bike you knew very little about, very likely. If it is a modern version (2000 or newer), and in great condition, you did fine. But this is a Classic and Vintage value forum, so I am assuming you are asking about the 1980s version. The good news is that the older one was a nice bike, just not a $400 one.

That's good but you might want to put them here on the thread to maximize the number of people willing to help. Just a thought.

It's definitely a mid 80's bike, therefore, yes $400 is way too much.
