Long Distance Competition/Ultracycling, Randonneuring and Endurance Cycling - Brooks Imposter
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
First I need to say that I love my B17. So much so,I want to equip all of my bikes. That being said, I can't fit one on my Cannondale Synapse because the rails are too short to get sufficient set-back. Does anyone know of another saddle similar to the B17 in terms of shape and width that might work out? I have heard a lot about the Terry touring model, but am not familiar with the saddle. Maybe Anatomica might be the answer?

Velo Orange makes a saddle like the b17, but with longer rails. They also sell a seatpost with extra set-back.
The Selle Anatomica does have really long rails, and it's very comfortable. But, I had a bad experience with it, as the rails broke on two different saddles, so I went back to the b17. Good luck.
I've heard these (http://www.crowcycleco.com/featured-products/gyes-leather-bike-saddle-compare-brooks-b68-black.html) are nice and that they make the VO saddles.

I just bought one of those Gyes saddles from Ebay and they appear essentially identical to the VO ones. The only difference I can see is that the surface of the Gyes saddle is smooth and the VO saddles are pebble-grained. Either should meet the OP's needs. I actually find the VO/Gyes to be more comfortable than Brooks (though the quality is lower) but that's obviously a personal thing.
