Bicycle Mechanics - Cartridge Bearings For Easton EA 90 - R4 Hub

I'm wondering what size cartridge bearings these wheels take as I want to replace both the front and rears.

I realize I could pop them out and measure them but then the wheels would be unusable until the new bearings arrived....which I would rather not do.

Anything unusual I should know about replacing the bearings or is it pretty straightforward?

I'd knock them out and measure if I were you ..
standard bearing number may be on the seal, molded in.,
then you don't have to go further..

then, stick them back in and ride, till the replacements, show up.

Portland has industrial Bearing suppliers, and so it can be a 1 day project.
quicker than ordering online, and at a bike shop which may not stock them.

I hate it when a thread dies without an answer. So in the interest of the archives and anybody in the future who may want to know, the Easton R4 hubs take the following bearing sizes.

Rear - 15 ID, 28 OD and 7mm width.
Front - 12 ID, 24 OD and 6 mm width.

12-24 is a 6901 or 61901 and the 15-28 is a 6902 or a 61902. http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id138.html

6901 and 6902 are standard bearing numbers , I think Enduro Bearings come thru QBP
so easy to get via LBS
90% fill on the balls [I got some for my Bullseye Hubs, a while back]

and even a Phil Spec, essentially a submersible pump bearing,so has to be a good
