What is a good grease to use when installing a Shimano Hollowthech II bottom bracket? I have installed it using Phil Wood waterproof grease, but keep getting creaking no matter how well I lube it and torque it. I have also searched the forum to find similar creaking problems and first adjusted the following before deciding it might just be the BB and perhaps the grease quality. Re-lubed, and re-tightened screws on both pedal cleats. Re-lubed and re-installed pedals. Re-lubed and re-tightened pinch bolts on the non drive crank arm.

Well sincerelly as long as u use grease to put the cups in the bike you should not have problems, I have used campagnolo, generic lithium grase and park grease and so far for BB cups the type of grease (to me) doesnt have that big impact. What I do too is to put that white 5 mm wide tape in the threads just in case only (cant remember the name). U should try that i guess and put your fav grease in the BB shell threads.
As for the creak have u eve wonder that it could be the seatpost?? the cassette lockring?? the quick releases?? or even a bad pedal bearing??
Cheers.

Thanks Ultraman6970. I will try the seatpost, cassette lockring, and quick release adjustments tomorrow and see what happens. I don't have a spare pedal to try and see if the bearing is bad.
