Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I'm considering a used Trek Soho with belt drive and Shimano Nexus 8 hub. Most of my riding is on rail trails and bike paths. How suitable is this bike for this type of riding?

As an owner of a belt-driven, IGH-equipped bike my advice is to save your money until you can afford a new bike. Technology continues to improve as these bikes hit the market. The new CenterTrack system from Gates is a big improvement over the original system and so far is only available commercially on Spot Brand bikes.
