Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Technically no longer an Athena as of 2 days ago!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I hit 199! 65 lbs lost in about 5.5 months.My height 5'8".
I have a ways to go yet but I want to say thanks to this forum and just let anyone know they can do it if I can!

Here's my ride that helped get me there, a Rans Cruz crank forward. I use it for touring on and off road. Normally I wear a helmet but just not for the photo op ;)

200 is for Clyde status, I believe Athena begins at 150 (?).

But congrats on the weight loss! You don't look 199 but you do look MAHVELOUS! Just being honest and no, I ain't hitting on her (got to throw that in for the viewers that seem to think a compliment is pick up line ;))

Yes sadly the Athena limit is lower (I thought 175 but it may be 150) however, congrats on the weight loss!!!

Think of it this way... you can still spend time here!!!!

EDITED TO ADD: From Tom's Sticky:

Why an Athena? Look at Greek art, and the idealized form. The Greek culture portrayed the Goddess Athena as, well......statuesque. To be an Athena, you are not going to be a skinny little stick girl. Athena was the Patroness Goddess of Athens, and was not only the goddess of the gift of wisdom, she was a warrior Goddess, portrayed as a large, well muscled, strong and athletic woman that embodies the ideals of wisdom, knowledge, beauty, and strength. This term also comes from the Tri world, and is given to women over 150 pounds and/or 5'10".

Ahhh that sucks... Oh well AquaKitty I would love to be under 200 lbs! (I'm 5'8" as well). That's almost "fighting weight" for me!

AH well, weird when I was 150 I was pretty skinny. 160 is my current goal weight will have to see how I look then! Thanks for the nice comments :) Ya 175 makes more sense.

You may still be an Athena, but that is a compliment!
