I'm riding the Solvang Century ride for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (thru team in training). It's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
While most of will note that it's a worthwhile endeavor, the thought of donating to a total stranger may seem iffy (at least that's my assumption on the matter). Befre you blow off this thread, I'd just like to ask you to take about 5 mins of your time and learn more about what we do.
So here's what I'm proposing:
1) Check out my TNT training page http://www.teamintraining.org/participant/lopez-239021
2) Read up on the cause (and check me out in all my glory :P )
3) Should you feel that this is something you think is worthwhile... donate a $2.50 or whatever amount you'd like (either thru the website or email me - jslopez93@yahoo.com for other options)
Ofcourse, you can give more (the donations are tax deductable) but please feel comfortable with what you give and please spread the word. Maybe you know of people who believe in this cause or companies that are willing to give corporate sponsorships etc. At the end of the day, just leave word that you passed by on the website so I'll at least know that people are able to know more about what I'm doing.
I'm also more than open to more suggestions/leads on fundraising which I'm hoping it's ok to post here.
