hey guys i have a mountain bike that my dad bought for me (used) and we switched the wheels from knobbies to slicks. i am thinking of switching the handlebars to drop bars while keeping the stem, brakes, and shifters the same. the shifters are twist-style and the current handlebar is 31.8 mm. the question is can/should i do it? im a noob to biking. i ride occasional hills and mostly road(like 95%).

thank you!

The brake levers might work, especially if c-clamp style. The shifters probably won't work. Best bet is to get drop bar shifters/brake levers. You may be able to ghetto modify what you have.
