New guy here. Just bought my first road bike (tri bike) and will be riding a lot in the Bham area if anyone wants to link up. I'd be happy to steal any advice... :D

There's some good info in the Sweet Home Alabama thread
There are multiple levels of riders and rides on the Tuesday nighter from the Botanical Gardens (rides leave 5:45 to 6:00). The Birmingham Bicycle Club has a ride calendar, and I'm sure the tri-group has one as well, if that's your focus. Alabama Cycling News website and on facebook is another source, and you can join the local Google ride group to get emails - looking up Dirtdogs Birmingham Cycling should get you there.
If you show up on a Tuesday, look for me on old bikes, or on my distinctive green/blue Casati, and say hi.

Thx for the info Ex Pres. Getting my bike fit at 10:30 tomorrow and can't wait to ride it. Plan on hitting Oak Mountain afterwards and doing some swimming/ cycling.
