Mountain Biking - Found this in my dads Garage, hanging since 2000

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any comments, tips? I doubt I will be selling this one as it was my dads, but it does seem a bit small, the sticker says it has a 28 inch stand over. This will be my first decent (I think) mountain bike since I was 10. Been riding my road bike but I've always wanted to try some trails after watching some videos.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the difference in the two photos?
Also, kudos on the Tour de Cure!
My mom is Type 1 Diabetic, so I've seen that disease firsthand.
Oh, and welcome to the dirt!

I took off the warped fenders, the reflectors, and put on an extra cf bottle cage, pumped up the tires.

There's a blue air hose in the 2nd picture.

BTW, I'd be more interested in what's under that car cover than that old bike. ;)

I remember that 'Goose. I wanted one back in the late 90's. Back when mongoose wasn't yet a walmart staple.

This one is pre-walmart, still made in taiwan unlike the 2000's made in china.

If you're going to hit the trails with it, swap out the semi-slick tires for some knobbies.
