Fifty Plus (50+) - Ready to get back into "peddling"

Greetings everyone. I am a 50 y/o guy that is awaiting delivery of my new PT Cruiser single speed. It will be the first bicycle I've owned since I was a kid. I bought it to get some excersize because walking is just too boring.
I found this forum and am delighted to be here. Hopefully I can contribute soon instead of being the newbie with a thousand questions. I'll attempt to post a pic of what I will soon be riding. Ride safe. Jim.

Nice bike!! Don't forget to carry the stuff to fix a flat while riding. I like the way the fenders flair on it.

Welcome to bicycling and this forum. I started riding again at 51. Dripped 60 pounds and 60 blood preasure points without even dieting. Cycling is a great way to keep your blood flowing and your interest up.

Cool fenders. Keep us posted on how the riding goes.

Enjoy your rides, mate. If it gets a bit boring consider
rigging a radio on your handle bars for some tunes. (NO ear
phones, please!!) I rigged a radio/cassette player in a
handle bar bag with a small, pair of Panasonic speakers zip
tied to the bars on my bike and it made rides a LOT more
fun!!

I completed assembly this morning and went for my first ride. I was concerned about the bike being so light and nimble (I ride motorcycles as well) and that I would look like a doofus. Nothin' to it! Not wanting to overdo it my first time out, I rode about a mile round trip. Man, talk about spaghetti legs since I got back! Whew! I must say that it is a good feeling though. I look forward to another ride in the morning.

Good question. The bike is actually made in China. I found it through a google search for bicycle cruisers or cruiser bicycles; can't remember which one got me there.
The site I bought mine from was seriousauto.com. Kind of strange actually,,, I have a state-of-the-art computer at home along with high-speed cable access (Roadrunner), but at work I cannot access seriousauto.com. The computer (at work) is a new but cheap Dell, with DSL "Lite." Sorry, I'm really a techno-doofus. I hope this helps. Jim :)

That'll go away in as matter of days. I thought I was gonna die after my first three miler a few months ago, but now that's just a "warm up" ride.

Hi Ron. Being a newbie I had no idea that there were bicycles produced in Tennessee.
To be quite honest, it really doesn't matter to me anyway. I'm a transplanted Texan that has lived in TN for 10 years now.
I suppose I should lighten up. :) The next time in the market for a new bike, I'll DEFINATELY give Litespeed a close look. Thanks for the tip. Jim
