Everyone close to the situation says no. To conclude from the video that I saw that Karpets delibrately crashed Contador is a stretch. I vote no.

He told Cycling news that he did, AC said the same thing. Both seem to think nothing of it so maybe AC bumped him first and got wacked in response.

The one suspicious thing to me is that Karpets seemed to have changed his story a little bit. I'm not sure if that was just bad translation or questionable reporting, though.

My guess is, based on the initial remarks by both, as well as the coach, that I actually DO believe he sorta pushed him. I'm guessing Contador tried to bully his way in from the side, and Karpets said, "Try again." It would, therefore, be in BOTH of their interests to deny it. (Contador to avoid looking like a wimp that got *****-slapped into a rail.) That might explain why AFTER Karpets came back out of the bus, his story was a bit different.
