Well I have been lurking for a while and have finally decided to come out. I used to bike quite a bit a few years back until I broke my shiny yellow TREK frame.

Now that I have joined my department's Bike Patrol and have been riding a bit I have decided I want my own. So next week my brand new Gary Fisher Tassajaro DISC will be here. Originally I ordered a Giant Rainer but it turns out they are not available any more this season. My local bike shop ( Pedal Power in Stone Mountain, GA) was kind enough to sell me the GF at the same price as the Rainer and to even up-grade the derailluers at no cost. Essentially I am getting a $850.00 +/- bike for $700.00.

Anyhow I am happy to be back in the fold.

Welcome to the Forums and welcome "back" to cycling!

Stone Mountain huh? Have you ridden the trails in Conyers? I've been wanting to take a detour on my way to NC and do some riding in GA, but never seem to time it right! I've heard about some good trails around Gainesville (o.k. I've ridden there, but only once!) and around Eligay. I've ridden over near Helen, the Unicoi State Park. That was a fun loop! Have you ever been to any of these trails?

There are a few other members from the Atlanta area here, I'm sure you'll find out who they are sooner or later.

Congrats on the new bike! Those are pretty sweet bikes and it sounds like you're getting a pretty good deal!

BTW, what do you mean when you say "Bike Patrol"? Are you on a police force, or are you Military? I've never heard of a miliary bike patrol, but you tag line at the bottom threw me off! Either way, I think it's cool. We've got a Police Bike Patrol down here and I know a few of the guys.

Welcome again,
