A few months ago,I installed a puncture-resistant tube on my rear tire, and I am very pleased with the result. I carry a lot of weight on my rear rack, and I used to get a lot of flats on the back tire. Now I don't get any flats. (I ride a touring bike with 700x28 tire)
The thing that I find interesting is that I had incorrectly assumed that, since the puncture-resistant tube was thicker than an ordinary tube, it might be a big hassle to get it to fit properly. On the contrary, it was easier to install. Too bad I didn't try this years ago; I would have saved a lot of hassle with flats.
Yippee!
