I have a question for all you triathletes out there. What is your training week like? How many days do you swim, bike, run? How do you do double days? Thanks

im 14 and i swim 3 days, bike 2 days, and run 2 days

Monday-swim
Tuesday- run
Wednesday- swim
thursday - bike
Friday - swim
Saturday- run and bike

I believe double days are just when you train two of the sports in one day

This is my current theoretical work out for the week. Theoretical because I attend college and work full time. My availability to work out doesn't always happen. I try to give myself a day off between each type of workout to allow recovery (upper vs. lower body). Then, I juggled things around to avoid the busy days in the gym (Mondays are terrible for weight lifting and water aerobics closes the pool).

Monday
Easy Run: 45min

Tuesday
Power Swim: 100 x 8
Upper Body Weight Training

Wednesday BRICK
Power Cycle: 2min intervals x 30min
Distance Run: 1.5hr

Thursday
Distance Swim: 20min no stop
Lower Body Weight Training

Friday
Upper Body Weight Training

Saturday TRI
Swim: 800 yards no stop
Distance Cycle: 2hr @ ~100 cadence
Power Run: 5min intervals (fartleg)

My schedule (usually):

M,W,F,Sat Bike : with my long bike on saturday, hill on monday, regular pace on wed, and just easy spin on friday.

T,TH,F,Sun Run : again with long run on weekend. medium run on Thur, and T,F just shorter 20-30 minutes easy pace.

Swim : my hardest I try to get in 3 days a week. usually on a run day as it leaves me more time.

I'll also do bricks as we approach the season. running after my bike ride on wednesdays.

Cooljazz, you must be a perpetual prune with all that swimming! :) I am impressed.

Breggurns, I think your schedule will depend a lot on what distance you are training for. I usually try to run 3X, bike 3X, swim 2X, and lift 2X a week, with one day completely off. There are a lot of weeks I dont get all of those workouts done, but at least it gives me a goal to shoot for. I dont beat myself up too much for missing a workout here or there. Also, as you get closer to events, the long rides and runs will become more important, so try not to skip those!

PATriGal, if you saw how slow I am in the water, you wouldn't be so impressed;
Thanks anyway :)
