I hope I am posting this in the correct section. I am looking to purchase my first road bike and cannot afford the prices on a new one so I've been looking searching for a good deal on a used bike. I came across a 2001 Trek 2300 and it looks like it has some nice components. It's still a little out of my price range but he said the price is negotiable and its been on CL for a few weeks now. Is this bike priced about right or a little high? Is it a pretty decent bike for a beginner? Thanks in advance. Ryan

This 2005 one on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/130539005701) hasn't been selling for $800+$89 shipping (it's been relisted at least once, and it's on a 30 day listing), and even if it did sell, after fees the seller wouldn't be making $750.

It's too modern for me to guess at a value, but $750 feels like it's really reaching given it's location.
