Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - ODB- Died on Sat, Nov. 13th

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Looks like ODB, aka Ol' Dirty Bastard, aka Big Baby Jesus, aka Russell Jones, died of a heart attack at age 35 on Saturday in New York City.
Goodbye Wu-Tang! I'll miss your crazy antics onstage... :(

That's really tragic. To me he was alway's like some crazy real life superhero,( like when he rescued that girl who was pinned under a car.) I remember something he filmed for MTV when he pulled up in his limousine to the foodstamp office, went in, and, upon recieving the food stamps turned to the camera and said
"That's right! 40 acres and a mule jack!"
I've always been a big fan of WuTang because, like most great hip hop acts, they didn't really care what was going on musically around them, they just did they're own thing. This is especially true of ODB. I bet there's some 40's bein' poured on the ground tonight!
ah man, I heard about this earlier today. I was really looking forward to his future work, at least some of his next album was completed though.
I'd like to hear what the cause was, hopefully not drug induced.

One of his managers said that the focus of ODB life was his children. But, various articles about his life could not agree on whether he had 3, 7, 11, or 19 children, with 1, 3, or 12 different women. Somehow, it seems to me that if a man's children are "the focus of his life", he ought to know how many he has, give or take a few.
The sad thing is, ODB was a "hero" to many young inner city males. Somehow, a gangsta lifestyle, abandoned children, and the worshop of drug use don't add up to much of a "role model".
Lots of folks like to mock Will Smith for having a "clean" lifestyle. But, what is wrong with an entertainer providing a positive role model for young fans?

screw a clean life style, a non-oppressive life style is all that matters.
