I recently tried a Stumpjumper that had a Fox Talas and found it to be waaaay more plush than my Fox F100RL (Giant Anthem).

Could this be mainly due to the fact that the Talas has adjustable compression and the F100RL does not? Maybe when I send it to PUSH I should get the RLC kit installed? Will I see the difference?

Hmmm, very good question.
It's ridden by a woman, configured for cross-country, no jumps or drops, she always walks those. I tested it and it didnt seem to have much travel, just a pillowy feel to it. Set to 100mm would be my guess...

I purchased the bike new in April 2010. How often should a fork be serviced? fyi - I ride about 1200 miles per year.

fork serviced, oil changed, at least once a year, if you ride hard and a lot, possibly twice a year. some say change oil every 2-3 months, which i think may be a bit excessive.

your seals may need to be replaced by now. a tip i got from the Fox tech for good fork hygiene is to "floss" the fork, that is, get all the dust and dirt and particles out from between the stanchions and uppers. this keeps little grains of crap from getting down into your stanchions. you should be doing this after each ride.

and no, i don't either. but i should.

No no, i meant was the oil in the Talas which was supposedly more plush the stock viscosity...
