Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - road fork suggestion for clyde

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
i'm in the very slow process of building up a nashbar aluminum frame (which seems pretty darn nice for the $, btw). i'm a *little* leary of a carbon fork at my 300 lbs and wanted some opinions and recommendations on what to order. i have a mountain bike and a hybrid so this will solely be used for weekend fitness road rides with my wife.
oh...and another question....i *think* the nashbar frame is designed for the 43mm rake fork they sell. do i have to stay with 43? or would 45 work as well?
