After the MTB race at this year's HTH-100 in Wichita Falls, Texas I'm going to change tires and ride the 100 mile road ride the next day. I've got a set of Conti's Town and County I could throw on for the 100 miler, but I'm looking for something a bit more road worthy. Suggestions?? Thanks.

Michelin Wild Run'r. Very light and come in 1.4" and 1.1" versions. Not super tough though.
Continental SportContact. 1.3" Hella quick.

26" tires I presume?

I've been pretty stoked with the Performance Slick City 1.25". (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes//CatalogSearchResultView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&pageSize=16&beginIndex=0&sortBy=Dollar+Rank%2F%2F1&searchType=resultSet&cn1=&searchTerm=slick+city) Not a bad tire for 10 bones.

I reckon thread is severely lacking in pics, so here's a Slick City mounted to a fairly wide rim on one of my dumpster score bikes.

I just put some Nashbar Streetwise 1.5's on my Trek 820 today. They really ride nice. Made it into a whole different bike. I'm concerned about flat protection with these bargain priced tires - about $16 for the pair. We'll see how they hold up.
I meant to do a quick 10 mile ride just to try out the tires, but the ride felt so good I ended up doing over 20 miles.

Those are not bad. Ritchey Tom Slicks are similar (but more expensive and more durable)

When I got the Slick City I almost got the Tom Slick instead and they do have thicker tread, but I'm cheap and didn't want siping so went to Slick City.
