Hybrid Bicycles - Trek 7.5 FX Saddle Question

Hi,

Does anyone know the specifics regarding the H2 saddle used on the Trek 7.5 FX? The Bontrager site doesn't list either the H1 (7.3) or H2 (7.5).

I'm curious if this is just Trek & Bontrager's OEM name for the Trek seat and if so, what's the corresponding retail seat on the Bontrager site.

I think the nebula plus is the equivalent seat to the h2. I have an '10 7.5 fx and it looks pretty close.

I am quite new to this - but I'm not greatly impressed with the factory saddle on my 2011 7.3 FX.

It's OK.

However, I really do not like the seat adjustment. To change fore and aft position, you have to reset tilt/angle at the same time - it all is held in place by one set screw. Hence, when you reset fore and aft, you lose and have to reset Tilt. Further, the tilt adjustment has grooves on opposing pieces that should mesh with each other somewhat like gears. But do not. Twice, I thought I had grooves seated correctly, tight. Banged hard with my hand, leaned with all my weight on seat, etc.

Then, about 4 or 5 miles down the road, click - seat is floppy. Have to stop and reset again.

Not that good a design, IMO

I kind of figure that most OEM seats suck, and they are notorious for putting not so good seats on bikes. I will go with another one, once I am fully dialed in and know what I want.

Thanks, I suspect you're right. It's a shame the seat is one of the "Featured" items on the Trek site, considering the above.
