the women's world cup is interesting, in that all the nations that normally dominate in the mens world cup, do not. And all the nations that never seem to win in the mens, make it to the finals.

So close to putting Japan away, but Japan comes back each time.....good game both teams, but Japan wanted it a bit more.

The US have only themselves to blame for their poor finishing. They could have and probably should have had at least 2 if not 3 goals in the first half. They looked at sea when they were trying to defend their two leads in the second half and overtime. All of which is really sad, because the US ladies played some really beautiful soccer today.

To be fair, the Japanese knocked off the defending world champs en route to the finals. While the USWNT beat them in all previous meetings, this is the one that counted. Props to both teams for going so far.

I felt that the the USA defense is what let it go for them. They had the game and they played beautifully besides that.
