LA's legal team has filed a new brief to the court claiming character assassination.

This might be true, but as far as I'm concerned he is a public figure and the public has a right to know of his true character.

They are using a very basic and proven tactic, hold out long enough for everyone to forget about the whole thing...

Only time will tell if it was characteracter assassination or the truth.

I think its sick how he uses his cancer foundation work to justify his use of drugs.

According to the respected Politico (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0711/59234.html) news website in the US, Armstrong's legal team, headed by John W. Keker, contends that leaks about Armstrong had "the obvious intent of legitimizing the government's investigation of a national hero, best known for his role in the fight against cancer."

The attorneys are already paid. This is what they do. The issue isn't character assassination. It's possible prosecutor misconduct. That's worth investigating. Of course only the principals have knowledge of sealed grand jury testimony so either they leaked it or it's a lie. Either way a judge can decide what's up. Nothing desperate about that.

Why are they bringing this up right now? It seems like the TDF is the hot topic and people haven't been talking much about the investigation for a while. The more people forget about it, the better for Armstrong. I wonder if they expect another leak to come out soon.
