Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Caanondale caad2 r500 or cannondale road warrior caad3

Idea on value and opinion on which to choose for same $$
both in exc condition little miles well maintained . Would be a second bad weather bike
The caad2 r500 has 8spd rsx it's. 1999
The caad3 road warrior is an 02 I think, it's got 105 9spd DRs, mavic with ultegra hubs

I would replace the bars and shifters on the road W as I prefer drops ..

I'm thinking the road warrior has better components, but the r500 is good to go as is ith no changes, I think RSX was 105 level then also?

RSX = 105? Nope. Significant step down. The 02 Road Warrior with 105 should have come with drops and STI shifters. Recreating those will cost significant $$. Really depends on your parts stash. Myself, I would go with the Road Warrior, but I have a set of 9 speed STI in hand.

I have drops no shifters tho, I like the R500
Case it's ready to go with drops but
I'm not sure about the 12yr old drive train,
Rides great, frame is stiff, shifts smooth/tight

The caad 3 is a bad boy I think and has has the flat bars changed to comfort riser bars, the kalloy UNO ? I think it's 2004-2006? The serial has a K which I think is 06. Were caad 3 frames still used that late?

Either bike at $300 is a deal! I would get the road warrior just because it's pretty unique.

Seriously the 1999 caad 2 r 500 is a good deal @ 300$?!? It's really the one I want, but was not sure it was worth 300 with the age, it's in excellent shape, it's a 52cm which it what I ride (52cm R1000) the bad boy or road warrior no sticker on the top tube, has fatty ridged mtn fork no head shock is a 54cm fits, but 52 is perfect, and the 52 all ready has drops.

I've sold several older Cannondales with brifters. Ready to ride they go for about $350.

Last month I sold two, they went immediately.
