Came across a family on the bike path a couple days ago, Mom with a trailer,
14 month old twins inside, Dad, six year old boy, 4 year old girl.
The 4 year old was riding a Barbi bike fitted with a three speed hub and hand
brakes, she wanted gears and brakes like her brother had. I followed her down
a slight decent at just over 18mph, at a safe distance, she turned the corner
onto a slight incline, dropped down a gear and held a solid 14mph up the hill.
With her Mom yelling, "Mallory, wait for us at the intersection."!
She did, I waited with her just to be sure.
She was wearing a helmet, knee pad, elbow pads, the bike was fitted with
a water bottle and a license plate that said, "Bite Me"!
