its someone who teaches a cocky rookie who thinks he knows how to really ride how to really ride and understand the concept of cadence spinning shifting proper fitting and bike posture in the hopes one day he can race for the fun of it because he never thought he would become so hooked on road bike riding.hes a close friend who enjoys my ability to listen and learn .i have a lot to to learn but im improving

Pretty much every company out there that a pro team uses or has used in the past makes good bikes. All comes down to geometry and what characteristics each frame has over one another. Most people that you see touting specific brands are owners of that brand. I ride a BMC but if i hopped on a Felt, Pinarello, Cannondale, etc i'm sure i'd be pleased as well.

Felt's been very good to me and I'll probably buy another. I bought my cheapo (almost half what my powermeter cost) F55 back in '05, and snapped a chainstay four years later. I figured there was no way they'd just replace it after four years and tens of thousands of miles of carrying my behemoth @$$ up and down bumpy mountain roads, so I called to see if I could wing some kind of discount on a replacement frame. http://forums.youthrights.org/images/smilies/rockon.gifBut they replaced it free of charge!http://forums.youthrights.org/images/smilies/rockon.gif

Electronic shifting is what it sounds like. You push a button (or whatever, I haven't seen and touched one) and the derailleurs move the chain via motors/actuators.

Holy customer service Batman! I'd be tempted to buy a Felt on that testimonial alone...

I've since learned that nearly all reputable frame builders and Trek have this guarantee for the original purchaser. Just keep your receipt, and don't expect to get it extended if you bought the frame used on Ebay.
I should also mention that my '09 replacement frame came with slightly stouter, box-section chainstays, rather than the oval-section ones that came on the original '05 model. So I must not have been the only one to have the problem.

Yessiree!...I originally bought a Lemond Tourmalet ($1050). Frame snapped after 3 years. Replacement frame from TREK was that of a bike nearly twice the price ($2100/Chambery).
Went from all aluminum to a better frame 3/5 carbon at no charge (other than $50 for component swap at the shop) .:D
I'm going to try that with my Motobecane if it ever breaks!

I bought all of our bikes under the lifetime warranty conditions. Cannondale, Trek and the tandem is Burley. Burley also had a lifetime warranty on the frame but they've gone out of business. But the frame has been fine and since it's steel, I don't expect it to "explode" anytime soon.:p
I find it strange that some of the more expensive bikes charge $500 secretary (?) fee on a replacement claim. Heck, if I paid $5,000-$8000 for a bike, it better be good and if it breaks, I'd expect a free replacement. But then again, if I paid $8000 for a bike, I'd expect it to pedal for me too!:D
