I have a BAUER woman's 3 speed. I am unable to find any info on the bike. I found that the company had been around prior to WW2. This bike is is extremely well engineered and built. The LEPPER seat is quite complex (see photo). Can anyone provide me with about this bike?

Looks like a very nice bike. Such solid transportation bikes are common in Europe. Perhaps one of our European members knows more about Bauer bicycles.

I would check the rear hub for any numbers or letters. I'll guess it's a Sachs. If it's a Sachs or Sturmey Archer, we may be able to figure out the approximate age of the bike from that.

quote from the appraisal thread "It (the hub) seems to be a Torpedo Dreigang SAC-S. By the way the seat is a Lepper Primus leather."
