My family and I (Wife and 5 kids ages 4-12) want to drive our motor home South for Christmas and enjoy biking in the sun. I want to be able to drive there in 12 hours or less from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. My wife needs additional attractions other than biking.

Where do we want to go and what do we want to do?

A 12 hour drive won't get you far enough for warm sunny Christmas weather.

A 16 hour drive to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, will get you there. There is an Outdoor Resort RV Park on the island, but if you don't have a car, your stuck riding your bike. Also, the weather can get cold (20-35) here around Christmas, and you don't know what the weather will be like until you get here.
