Hey guys and gals,

I am going to be winter riding again for the first time since i was a kid...we used to ride a lot when we were younger. We even built a bike with skis on the front instead of a tire...we called it the "skike".

Anyway...now i am older and in an urban area and more prone to crashes . I think studded tires are the way to go. I like the idea of buying carbide studs (car type) from auto stores and putting those in. Anyone try this? Anyone have a source for these?

Another thing. Canadian bikers: Where do you buy Nokians? They are expensive as @#^%@# but getting them from the US or Ebay may prove cheaper. Has any Canadians bought Nokians from the US? How much is duty in these Finnish tires?

Thats all my thoughts for now..good riding to all!!
