Training & Nutrition - Interested in being a training mentor?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am new to road cycling this past summer. I recently purchased an indoor mag trainer to get me training through the winter. I want to begin racing next summer and maybe even think of triathlons ( sure I am setting my goals high, I know this). What I need is someone to spend a little time each week (less than an hour) instant messaging or emailing back and forth. I would like to get someone who has raced and who has been training for a while. I need somone to set me up on a biking/workout routine, diet plan, and an all around mentor that I can just ask questions ocasionally. I would say I am in fair shape but still developing muscle for biking so I would categorize myself as beginer. If anyone is interested in sharing some knowledge and setting me up on a training schedule that fits me please let me know. This would motivate me a lot just by having someone "coaching" me. After all, it is not the most thrilling thing riding in a stationary position as I am sure you know. :D

Thanks,
:)
P.S. If anyone knows any helpful websites or books please inform me of them. I can take all I can get.

I would head over to www.usacycling.org and hire myself a coach. That is way too much work for someone to be calling you your pen pal. Seriously.

Good luck with your training.
