Cyclocross - Could I change a cylocross bike into a Road bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Also guess I should have answered your other question. Yes, cyclocross bikes make great road bikes. Mine is a Kona Jake.

I use my Nuevation FCX 100, a cyclocross bike as a Road/Touring bike. I'm a big guy and 23/25 mm tires on Vermont roads and rail trails was not going to cut it.
I put 32mm tires (28 mm would work too) and didn't look back. For me it is a great compromise between comfort and speed.

Yup my Colnago world cup is set up for road riding right now as well, two bottle cages, a saddle bag, some skinny tires and it rides just like a road bike.

+1. I love my WC. It's like a black suit. Good for all occasions just change the wheels.
I keep a set of Mavic Ksyrium Elites with GP4000s for road training. The stock shimano 500's with cross tires for commuting, a pair of aksiums with Schwalbe Snow Studs for winter and a rear Shimano 500 with in indoor trainer on it.
I had it built with a 50T/34 as I mostly ride on roads. Hoping to race for the first time next month.

You can use wider tires, and put mudguards on them ,
they have become an update of the 27 x 1 1/4" wheel bike of the 80s.
featuring : wider tires & fairly sturdy wheels .. better than average brakes ..
