I've been buying the Terry T-short long (xize XXL or XL) for several years.

They changed the chamois in these shorts. It is now a bit narrower, and I got a saddle sore from the edge of chamois. This is not much narrower, but having the edge of something padded between your behind and the saddle is not a good thing.

Does anyone have a recommendation for women's cycling shorts which contain chamois that is wider than my sit bones?

Thanks for recommendations!

I love my Terry shorts - you need to check out the booklets or websites as they make several different types of shorts that have different chamois. I like the narrower chamois in the T-short but you may like the Comfort chamois in some of their other shorts. It's much wider but not as plush.

Check out: http://http://www.terrybicycles.com/Apparel/Cycling-Bottoms/Relaxed-Short_4 (http://www.terrybicycles.com/Apparel/Cycling-Bottoms/Relaxed-Short_4)

The Chamois is the Ultimate as opposed to the Flex Air.

Other than Terry - I like Pearl Izumi. Alittle more expensive but worth it.

There is no longer much difference between mens and womens shorts, since they started making all of them with a seamless chamois, so if you can't find a womans short that fits, try on mens shorts as well. I'm assuming you mean stretchy lycra road shorts, not woven mountain bike shorts. Those wouldn't fit as well in a mens model.
I'm currently wearing a mens XL because the equivalent womens model from the same manufacturer isn't big enough. The mens model is available up to XXXL, the womens only goes up to a very tiny XL, which is actually pretty typical for athletic clothing manufacturers in general.

I wear men's shorts as well (although I generally buy women's from Terrry) because the legs are longer and i am tall but the chamois are sometimes shaped differently (ie man v. woman). Just something to consider.

The T-short long is a lycra road-style short. I really liked the 10" inseam.
I did buy men's shorts before I discovered the Terry shorts.

I will explore whether I can use a slightly narrower saddle with the newer smaller Terry chamois, or just start looking at men's shorts again. It is disappointing to get saddle sore when wearing $90 shorts and butt-butter type product.

Thanks for the advice!

How are the women's shorts from Love2Pedal? They sure are a savings over most. My wife wants to know and all we find by searching is raves about the men's bibs.

I now have some experience with shorts but I haven't bought from Love2Pedal. Right now they don't have many choices for women. I shop on the Team Estrogen site, both for used from discussion forum members and new from Team Estrogen. http://www.teamestrogen.com/ My favorite shorts are Pearl Izumi. My second favorite products come from Terry. Neither are especially cheap. I see Pamestique likes the same brands.

I have shrunk out of my larges and extra larges. In a few days I am going to take pictures and post them for sale on the Team Estrogen discussion forums.
