Hybrid Bicycles - Need help in deciding how wide of fenders I should get

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I bought a new Specialized Crossroads Sport. It has 700 x 38c tires on it.
I really like the Planet Bike Hardcore Hybrid Fender Set with Mud Flaps (45mm Wide).
Does anyone know if those will fit between the wheel opening in my frame and fork without any problems?
Thanks,
John

You're in luck... I just bought a Crosstrail a month ago.
Mine currently has 700c x 45 tires and I picked up a set of SKS Chromoplastics fenders (50 wide).
It wasn't pleasant putting them on due to the crappy instructions but they fit just fine (actually only the back is installed... since only one side of the front fork has threads to screw the stays onto- I need to pick up some p-clamps or loom clamps for the front fender, but aside from bending the clamp to fit snug around the fork it should be an easy install)
Beyond that, for the back fender there's plenty of clearance all around. My bike is an XXL so it's perhaps a bit bigger than yours, but I would assume that thinner Planet Bike fenders would fit fine too.
(Here's my thread searching for recommendations/solutions regarding the front fork & fender...

Thanks. That's the information I was wanting. Fortunately my bike has those little threaded lugs for fender braces.
Thanks again.

Lucky you... Mine's a 2010 Crosstrail Sport and I spy no threaded lugs on the right side of the fork.

Yeah, I was glad. The front fork shows better than the rear.
