That is not smart.

That's standard operating procedure around here. At least that guy was wearing light colored cloths. Our joggers only wear white if it is snowing.

Here bicycle ninjas are the problem. I'm surprised more people aren't killed.

I occasionally jog through some pretty dark places at night, but I unclip the headlight from my bike and carry it. The wild swinging light seems to draw attention to me pretty well.

It's become the normal mindset anymore -- "nobody in sight right now, nobody's there at all, I can go do what I please."

I have a similar problem with my 17-y-o nephew; he seems CONVINCED that he can just PROCEED wherever he's decided to go, and anyone who doesn't look behind them to see him coming is at fault, and gets barked at. Does it on foot, does it on a bike. And, he wants a CAR.................

Just 20 minutes after the posted segment, I encountered a pair of joggers with red bicycle blinkies clipped to their waists. Worked pretty well.

I both run and ride a lot at night, and find I need quite different lighting for each activity. Blinking lights drive me nuts while on foot, for some reason and I don't like the way headlamps flop around on my head, so I carry a small LED flashlight in hand while I run. My arm movements give it motion, and I can face it to the front, rear, or downwards depending on the traffic around me.

Me, but I wear the same reflector vest I have for riding, and clip my PBSF clone to the back of my cap.
