Sorry about the cameraphone-quality images. I do own a digital camera, but it wasn't in my pocket. :D

Better pics later if there is interest.

Stock bar is a Cannondale C3 650mm. New bar is a Truvativ Holzfeller Team 700mm. I went wider because I have long fingers (attached to my glove size XL hands) and I couldn't move the triggers and shift levers as far inboard as I wanted.

Oh and new Oury lock-on grips too. They are also wider than the stock grips, as my hands went all the way across the Cannondale grips and I rested about 1/3 to 1/2" of my palm on the bar end / lock-on. Not comfy at all!

Fitness ride tomorrow, MTB trails on Sunday. Ride report to follow...

Very Cool ....I hated the stock bars on my hybrid.

Also ...I use one of these for my digital camera. I love taken pics while out and about.

The manufacturer advises a stem / top bar set up but I roll with it attached to the seat post / top bar. ...get the small for a standard digital camera.

Wow the bars look great. I recently went from 600mm to 660mm on my Cannondale and prefer the extra width. I was thinking of cutting them before installing, but now I'm so glad I didn't. You are obviously much taller than I, so I'm sure you'll be happy with the 700mm, even though it probably sounds wide to most.

Jay-- that's a pretty cool widget! Does it stay in during trail rides?

Thanks for the comment, Giantcfr1. I was originally going to cut these down but I'm used to wide bars on my MTB and dirtbikes, and I had a real problem with the shift triggers being too close.

There was nowhere to move them further inboard with the stock bar, they were just before the bend. And I do like sweep & rise-- don't care for totally flat bars at all.

^^^

Absolutely.

Two straps on the top bar and two on the stem / seat post.

Wow, those are wide bars for that type of bike. Now all you need is one of those huge handlebar carriers like we used to use when delivering the Detroit Free Press.

Cool though, if you like 'em.

They're all of 1" wider on each side than my original bars. Haters gonna hate... :P

I picked up a 2011 CX 1 a few weeks ago and I have the same issue with room for my hands. That 700mm looks perfect!

First trail ride yesterday on them. Huge improvement! Going through tight gaps in the woods was mostly psychological. There was plenty of clearance.
