My Force 50t (110mm) ring is probably close to worn out and I am thinking that I might replace it with a Red 50t ring instead. I really like the look of the Red ring, and the price difference is only about $15-20 online.

I have searched and found a few different weights for these specific rings so not at all confident in the accuracy.

Anyone know for certain what the weight of a Red 50t and/or Force 50t is? Thanks.

I got the actual numbers from SRAM:

Red 50t chainring: 109g (+/- 2g)

Force 50t chainring: 93g (+/- 2g)


Turns out that cheaper is lighter this time, staying with Force.

The Red chainring is quite possibly thicker (I don't know for sure). The weight from this would be unnoticeable, but the longer wear of the Red chainring may be worth the cash.

Four one hundredths of a pound? Does it really matter that much? Go to the restroom before you ride and save 20 - 50 times that. Sheesh.

I suppose if rider hammers up mountains in the big ring, the lateral stiffness may matter
other than that maybe knot.
