I got a 2010 Kona Jake in April. I really like it, and since I got it I haven't ridden any of my other bikes. Until today, that is.

I haven't been commuting lately. Mostly due to laziness, and the heat. Today I took my 2009 Felt X City for a quick trip to Walgreens, and I was reminded of how nice it is, so I rode it to work, for the first time in a while.

It was about 94 degrees, and humid, but I really enjoyed it. Eagerly awaiting the ride home.

Just wanted to share.

Welcome back! You don't want to be riding drop bars in this weather! Leave that sort of stunt to guys like Johnny Hoogerland!

Thanks!

I've loved the Jake, and still do. But boy I like that Felt a lot. As long as I'm not going far enough to need a lot of hand positions, the bars on the Felt (Albert) seem just right for me. And boy is that thing smooth, with the Conti City Contact 37s and the Felt hubs. The only thing I don't like is some pretty severe toe overlap with my VO aluminum fenders, but I just have to be careful. I might take them off, but they match my silver bike perfectly.

Great ride home too. This bike will have to see more action.

Your cross bike is sick. Put the fenders on that one!

Haha.

Are you clipped in when your foot hits the fender? Does it happen at speed?

I have a road bike and a hybrid. For some reason I always feel like I need to push harder when I ride road bike. The hybrid is my fun bike. It's also become my favorite to use for commuting to work.

I use platform pedals. I used to use half-clips on this bike, but then I really had problems. Really liked the half-clips otherwise.

It only happens when I'm going pretty slowly, but not super slow.

I generally find myself pushing with either of them, but then relaxing some too. At least if I'm going any distance. I guess it doesn't make much difference to me.
