I am assuming that if the largest sprocket is big enough so that the tool does not interfere with the next smaller one, using it this way would work.

Comments?

Thanks...Gary

a chainwhip works with any speed. Ive never seen it otherwise, it isnt like its going to cause damage or anything its not on there for a huge time

Just in case you were not joking (no emoticon present), the chains are different widths.

Cheers...Gary

Yeah, I know. The old POC nashbar one that works on old 6 speed seems to do ok on campy 10.

The main difference between 9 and 10 speed chains is the width of the chain. The pitch of the links is the same, so a 9 speed chain will work just fine as a whip.

It not that big an issue, as your using the chainwhip for a short period of time just to loosen the lockring.

Lol - I love buying new tools as well, especially Park Tool and other good quality ones :).
